CMS Publishes New Expectations Regarding COVID-19 Immunizations

The interim final rule with comment period (IFC) details requirements for LTC providers to establish:

Policies and procedures which ensure residents and staff have access to the COVID-19 vaccine or information on obtaining the vaccine, and education regarding benefits and risks
Documentation of required COVID-19 vaccine education, and whether the residents and staff received the vaccine
Weekly reporting ofCOVID-19 vaccine status of residents and staff, each dose of vaccine received, adverse events, and therapeutics administered to residents for treatment of COVID-19, through NHSN’s LTCF COVID-19 Module
